Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach
An aircraft soaring above a popular southern California beach suddenly began spiraling wildly, finally losing altitude and crashing into a row of palm fronds as spectators watched.
Recordings uploaded on social media depict the helicopter commencing to spiral above the shoreline then plunging near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck amidst palms and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Details
Emergency responders stated five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
