Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to fans for his conduct when substituted in the recent intense Clasico clash triumph.

He was taken off in the 72nd minute and expressed his disappointment by going straight off the pitch.

The Brazilian subsequently came back to the bench and, following his team's 2-1 win, attempted to approach Barcelona's opposing player during contentious after the game incidents.

"Now I want to express regret to all the Real Madrid fans for my behavior when I was replaced in the Clasico," he posted on social media.

"In the same way as I have already done during the latest practice, I would like to apologise again to my team-mates, the organization, and the leadership.

"At times fervor overcomes me because I continuously aim to win and support my side. My winning mentality comes from the love I have for this team and each thing it stands for."

The player signed for Madrid from his former club in 2018 for millions and has notched over a century of strikes in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Madrid is uncertain with rumors in recent months suggesting that the club would contemplate permitting the 25-year-old move on if they got a good proposal.

When he was taken off on Sunday, cameras from network Dazn captured him remarking: "Always me! I'm exiting the club! It's preferable if I leave, I'm leaving."

In his new message on the platform, the athlete stated: "I promise to keep fighting constantly for the welfare of the club, as I have done since the initial arrival."
